Coming from a family of military and law enforcement professionals, it was a natural progression for me to pursue this field. Therefore, as a high school student, my parents enrolled me in a military JROTC program. Upon graduation from high school, I entered into an undergraduate Army ROTC program with a focus on Criminal Justice. Upon completion of this program, I entered the Army as a Lieutenant with the Military Police and served at Fort Polk in Louisiana. Here, I served for four years while increasing in rank, and was then deployed overseas with my troops during the Gulf War.

Upon returning stateside, I had the privilege of serving with the Military Police at various posts throughout the United States for another 16 years, and retired from the U.S. Army as a Brigadier General in 2010, after more than 20 years of service.

Since retiring in 2010, I returned to school to obtain my law degree (J.D.). I completed this education and passed all of my boards in 2012. Recently, my wife and I founded an organization that focuses on helping veterans who served overseas and are now facing physical or mental hardships due to their experiences. This practice has allowed us to advocate for soldiers rights and give back to the great men and women who have so honorably served our country, while working with the U.S. Government and military to benefit everybody involved. This advocacy work brings me true joy, and I look forward to expanding our efforts and serving this population for decades to come.

I am proud to say that I am also the husband of a wonderful wife who retired from the military after 20 years of service as a physician. We have 2 sons, ages 15 and 17, both attending JROTC. We also have a beautiful daughter, age 21, who currently serves as an R.N. with the United States Army.
